ARTIST’S COMmENTS: I was inspired by the colors in Ecuador’s flag and because it is a country my family has always been interested in visiting. For my pole, I took from geometric designs found in the country’s fine, colorful textiles and, in addition, wanted to celebrate the abundance of exotic flora and fauna found in the region.
